Dr. Jack Magnier (1916 - 1997)


Dr. Magnier came from near Fermoy Co Cork, coming from a medical family. He commenced practice in 1960 and resided in Montgomery Terrace. He was married to Mary; two sons Maurice and Paul also became doctors.

Jack was a larger than life person, with a great interest in people and a good story. He enjoyed his golf at Greencastle. He retired in 1986 and his practice replacement was Dr. Daniel (Don) McGinley.

He is buried at Ballybrack; his gravestone is inscribed “A faithful friend is the medicine of life” - Ecclesiasticus 6:16.
